Mozambique crisis in Cabo Delgado

In recent months there has been an escalation in violence in the north Mozambique province of Cabo Delgado. Many people have fled for their lives to the city of Pemba, often arriving on foot and by boat. The authorities estimate that there are over 600,000 internally displaced people who have taken refuge in Pemba, and who are camping in and around the city.

The main Iris Global base in Pemba has been loving on those who have lost so much, by providing food, care, and in sharing the Gospel. Iris Global UK has been sending funds to help towards the Iris team being able to support over 27,000 people daily.

''We continue to go out to the camps and the villages, and bring the food to these people who are so desperately in need. We are able to bring spiritual and physical food for these people. And right now because of your radical generosity, because of your amazing prayer, we are able to feed 27,200 people a meal every single day. It is not just physical food, but it is also spiritual food. We have got the audio Bibles, in their local dialects, which we give out.''

         

'' We give dry food, and they are able to cook it, to have a hope and a future. Many of these people are already believers - they love Jesus, and they are worshipping Jesus, and many, many more are coming to the Lord. I just want to encourage you with this scripture from Matthew 25: 37 - 40

Then the godly will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty and give you food and something to drink? When did we see you with no place to stay and invite you in? When did we see you poorly clothed and cover you? When did we see you sick and tenderly care for you, or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Don't you know? When you cared for one of the least important of these my little ones, my true brothers and sisters, you demonstrated love for me.'

''That's what you are doing. You are demonstrating love for these people in Mozambique. It's because of you that we can go and share this glorious Gospel. Bless all of you.''
